Celebrating Eucharist as a community calls us to be Eucharist to one another. There is always part of our community that cannot be with us on Sundays. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to the Sick and Homebound visit these people and bring them communion from our table.
St. John’s, along with other area Catholic parishes, is invited to participate in a ministry to the sick at Metro West Medical Center in Framingham one morning a week. Individual commitments are usually not more than once a month. Training is required. No other meetings are required.
Visiting the homebound is a rewarding ministry. Our homebound parishioners greatly enjoy your visit and receive strength and comfort from receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion. This ministry allows for great flexibility in scheduling. Once again, training is required but no other meetings are necessary.
Opportunities for days of prayer and spiritual renewal are provided several times a year for each of these ministries.
