An Evening of Prayer with Jim Browne
“Prayer in the events of each day and each moment is one of the secrets of the kingdom revealed to “little children”, to the servants of Christ, to the poor of the Beatitudes”
(CC 2660).
“Prayer is the best spiritual weapon we possess. It is the key that opens the heart of God.” St. Padre Pio
Jim Browne, a gifted Catholic from Kiladoon, County Mayo, Ireland, grew up in the Catholic faith under a devoted, rosary-praying mom who routinely visited the shrine of Our Lady of Knock, to pray for healing within her family. According to Jim, “Mom brought all us kids with her to Knock so often, it was like a second home. I can’t thank her enough for the example of faith and prayer she showed us, even if at the time I would have rather been playing Rugby!” Jim has been leading retreats and prayer groups as well as pilgrimages for over twenty years. Jim’s wit and use of humor is also helpful in keeping the attention of his audience as he weaves the trials and tribulations of his own faith journey into the fabric of his scripture-based lessons. A natural teacher, Jim lives each day to walk with Christ and help others in His name. Come hear Jim speak regarding the need to pray; prayers for protection; why it’s difficult to pray; and the cross. Monday, September 30, 2019, 7-8:30PM.
